That's right.
Joy and I booked are trip and we're leaving on HALLOWEEN! and coming back on the 6th. We've got our "O" tickets, we plan on spending a couple days down in the GC (that's Grand Canyon, yo) and the rest is up in the air!
Suggestions, thoughts, holiday leftover tips?

Pack warm clothes. It is really cold in the desert at night.

Sounds like a sweet deal! A little warning about the GC - it will be FREEZING down there - literally. So pack heavy if you are serious about it.

Yeah, they say it's going to be in the 60's during the day down there at that time (does this mean I should break out the bell bottoms and ludes, man?)

Mrs. Coach and I are planning a trip to Downtown Dell Rapids, South Dakota!
Can you believe it! We might stay only for a couple of hours or so, though.

Might I suggest you do the Downtown Dell Rapids Mule Rides?

Make sure you ride the rides on top of the Stratosphere! I'm still kicking myself in the pants for not doing that. We saw a great show at the Rivera called Splash. That was 3 years ago tho I don't know if they would still have it.

How about hotels, people? What do you recommend/dislike?

You already booked where your staying right? If so where? If not do not stay at the Westward Ho!! Just wandering though other hotels I liked Excalibur and Cesears Palace. There is also a cool Coca-Cola musuem type place. The building is shaped like a coke bottle. You go through this little tour where you can drink lots of Coke and watch old Coke commercials. Its alot more interesting than I make it out to be.
Last of all don't forget to stop by the Graceland Wedding Chapel. Have your picture taken in front of the Jon Bon Jovi was married here sign. Maybe they have updated it by now to say Akern was married here.

Pack your walking shoes too.
As for hotels, you should be able to get good rates if you'll be there midweek. Look online for the best package deal or midweek rates; most of the hotels are pretty much the same once you get to the room.
