I am getting the big"V" done tomorrow and was wondering how long I had to put aside running and let the boys heal. 
If any of you guys have had one out there I would like to know how many days after did you start exercising again.

had this discussion with hubby today....(yes, I'm complaining again.....how I've taking care of things for our entire marriage....blah, blah)
anyway......minimum 1 week upto 2 weeks of no running for fear of hematoma
yeah, hubby likes to use big words......I "do" know that a hematoma is bruising......wahhhh wahhhhh!!!!
I refuse to go back on the pill....the sex nazi says "no sex for you" until you get snipped

I don't mean to offend you or your hubby but, how inconsiderate of him! Geez Louise...get it done already!
Now, as far as the amount of time for recuperation...depends on how well you take care of yourself. (I was about to tell the story of the firefighter who thought he could have it done on a Monday and report back to work on Wednesday. It would've been cool except for that structure fire.) But it's a good idea to give yourself a minimum of ten days but not for anything really long. Two weeks? No ten-milers but you shouldn't have much trouble. But Cappy's pretty much right - two to three weeks is good but make sure that you're taking care of yourself all the time. Just because you think you can doesn't mean you should! Good luck.

I waited one full week.
It was all good. Just make sure to do nada the first 2 days. I mean nada. Sit and rest and ice...don't think cause you are feeling ok, you can do stuff...that's how people screw up...just take it easy and ease back into all activity...you'll be fine.

Thanks for the replies, looks like I'll be able to give my achy left knee a break too!!!! Coach my buddy said the same thing 2 day of nothing and he meant nothing so I will follow both of your advice to a tee.

one week for me. I went back to work in 2 days after but should have taken another day
by three days post I was fine
1 week is a nice time, can run and  again
