Jewelry purchased - Check
Flowers ordered for delivery to her office Friday - Check
Chocolates purchased - Check
Card purchased - Check (Decided to pick up the Hallmark Blushing Bears too for the shock and awe value )
Okay, it looks like I will survive another Valentine's Day and I'm finished with shopping five days early this year!

That is about where I am at. I still need to get the card and maybe something small.

Ralph Wiggum had better action on the Valentine's scene than I did when I was a kid.
(now, though, LC and I usually do go out for a dinner)

Inn reservations: done (her treat)
Dinner reservations: done (my treat)
Gift: Can't contact the seller on Ebay, so I'll have to go to backup plan. Although it probably doesn't matter: This weekend is dangerously close to being called off anyways.

My son came home with his Valentines list from school. I said, "Guess we'll have to get some Valentines for your class"
He said, "well, for some of them."
I said "It's all or none. You can't play favorites like that."
He said: "None then."

So that's why my newly single friend Karen invited the girls over for dinner and cards on Saturday night!
I pay so little attention to this holiday, even when I was half of a couple, he wasn't allowed to buy me flowers because there's such a markup on them that week that it was a waste of money, and I normally cooked a really nice dinner at home, better than anything we could get out at the cattle calls, although we did go away for the weekend a couple times, any excuse is a good excuse for that! But my thought has always been, it's such hype and so much pressure on people to "do it right" one day, when you really should be doing nice little things for each other throughout the year (which we usually did). Maybe I'm a weirdo for a girl, but I just never saw the big deal about it.
This year the roomie and I are making dinner and hanging out at home boycotting the commercialism
