I'm just now planning my vacation week. It's next week. Yes, yes... all very short notice. I just wasn't sure a. if I could get away from work the week that first rounds of budget presentations happen and b. if the vacation would need to go towards a new roof.
So... here are what I'm looking at so far.
1. Ocean City, NJ... went last year, had a blast, would drive, need to find hotel or house for 4 nights
2. Ft. Lauderdale, FL... hubby's flight privedges get us there free but then either rent a car (prefer not to however), he has a friend in the area but we'd stay at a hotel, hubby thinks he has a suite w/kitchen lined up that's on the beach (again 4 nights)
3. Home Sweet Home... go to Kennywood one day, Sand Castle waterpark the next day, Ohiopyle ("the mountains") for biking, hiking, canoeing or swimming, for a day, hit a ballgame if Pirates are in town
4. None of the above.

Oh, now you go to Joisey? You were just waiting until I was gone, huh? I wouldn't have messed up your vacation, honest!!! 
The Joisey shore can be fun, but if number two is a SURE thing, then I would do that.
Number three is my favorite--and you could even throw in exploring the history of your town. So often we live somewhere but never know the history of our towns.
If it were me, I'd choose three.

got back last night.....it is insanity!!!!!! not the weather....actually not much hotter or humid than WI right now......it the expenses.......FL rapes tourists to support themselves.

Hmmm...I have to rethink my answer now. I was gonna vote B because FL is much nicer than OCNJ.....how about a compromise and go to OCMD?

Hey, can I come visit? I've never been there. I have heard that Little Cuba is a really neat place to visit. (From my Cuban friends)

What are you infected with - morph's strange Evah Infection? Apparently we have a weird strain of it up here in Philly, too.
But my god, THE HEAT! SC was bad last week; I can only imagine how hot it is further south by y'all!
