So we decide to get away for a few days at the last moment. We went to a nice resort hotel in San Antonio wed and thur, had a blast at the pools, not cooking or cleaning, etc...
Yesterday we take the kids to Fiesta Texas--a Six Flags theme park--for a day and evening of fun. However, it got a little warm...even by our standards. Yesterday at 3 pm it was 111.
We were whipped pups and left early. It sure was nice to get home.

Six Flags rocks!!! Sounds like, other than the heat, it was definitely a nice break.

How cool that you had a mini-vacation--sometimes those do more to revitalize you than a whole, planned out long vacation!

Sounds excellent Alan but man 111 degrees would've had me down for the count. I hate it when it climbs above 80.....

And big fat  , Aire! We just spent a short weekend at our friend's cabin in the local mountains. Those two days were just what the doctor ordered!

*sniff*......  I used to live close to Six flags.
My boys have been begging to do Schlitterbahn...I think maybe two more summers when they are 11 and 9 it would be better
