I am out of books and I am going to try and hit the library before heading off on vacation on Friday morning. Any suggestions. I like authors like
Stephen King, Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler. Obviously nothing deep and through provoking for me since I will be drinking beers and margaritas all week!
Thanks for the ideas everyone.

If you like Tom Clancy, try Larry Bond. He co-wrote Red Storm Rising, with Clancy.
Bond writes similar modern military fictions like Clancy.
I have read three of Bond's book, and they were all excellent

Have you read the Cussler Non-Dirk Pitt books yet? They're ok, not as good as the Pitt books..
The W.E. Griffin Books are easy reads. If you like Clancy, you might like these. He's written both military and police:

I highly recommend the Brotherhood of War Series:
http://www.webgriffin.com/brotherhood.html
It follows the same characters from WW II through Vietnam. Great characters and an easy read. Once you get into the main characters, you want to keep reading!

I am pretty current on the second series Cussler has started with the new guy (granted I have forgotten his name) I like it. Nice little change.
I might check out some of those other ones if I can find something in the library.

I haven't read any of his, but Vince Flynn is supposed to be good. First book: Term Limits.
There is always Robert Ludlum (Bourne Identity) or Gayle Lynds (she co-wrote a couple books with Ludlum, but i'd go with Masquerade or The Coil).

The Song Of Susannah is the 6th book in the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King. It is next on my list. This follows the recent "Wolves of the Calla" which was the most recent installment. I love the series, but I don't know if you do or not.
Robert Ludlum wrote a book called "The Janson Directive" that I recently read and loved. That might be worth checking it out.

Mrs. Boiler wouldn't appreciate that! She thinks I have a dirty enough mind as it is.
