so, about that v-day thing...Confused

the bf and i sorta discussed it, and seeing as i had yet to recieve a bday gift, i assumed that we would not be exchanging gifts this year. we were going to the grandparents cabin and were going to cook so we would at least be together. but quite honestly, my hopes for the weekend were low, just to prevent myself from getting disappointed later.

he was already up when i got up sat am and i went to ask him if he wanted to go to the mall with me (i had "me" shooping to do...). well before i could say anything he told me happy vday. Embarassed kay, didnt expect that, hmm, is something up? he (to my surprise ) said he didnt want to go, so i went with a friend. right before i left, he left "to go to the auto parts store" kay, now i know somethings up. crap, now i have to get him something too...

while i was in the last store, he calls to see where im at. i ask him if i need to get him something. he says not to worry about it. i ask him how much should i spend, an again, he says dont worry about it. so i stop and get him some nice chocolates on the way home.

later, after dinner, he asks if i want my present. heck yeah, i want my present. at this point all im expecting is cute, inexpensive earrings or something... he goes back out to the car and comes back with a bag from my favorite jewlrey store (thats not by any means inexpensive either... and i pull out a little box. dear god, i know he did not get me a ring... inside i find a pair of beautiful emerald and diamond earrings. whew, its not a ring, even though it would have been kinda nice...

i tell him thank you and give him a kiss. then he asks if i want the rest of my present. and he brings in a HUGE bag, again from my fave jewlrey store and its a HUGE handmade jewlrey box like ive always wanted.

so, now i feel like a heel. not only because all i got him was a box of chocolates, but also because i had such low expectations of him and what he was going to do for me, and he went to all that trouble and spent all that money on me because "im special"... but i think i made up for the lack of trouble i went to for him later that night... Wink Wink

but all, in all it was a good weekend. much better than i had anticipated.

sorry this was so long, thanks for reading, how was your day?

Ours was lovely as well. It sucks when you're not expecting something and they get you a gift (or if you've agreed before to not do the exchange) because even though the gift is nice, and appreciated, you feel like a heel. He sounds like a keeper.

We didn't do gifts this year, but Larry got me some absolutely gorgeous roses in a ton of different colors. He also made a gourmet feast of food and we got all tipsy on bubbly.

Hope evereyone else had a great day!

The Paramedic knows the quickest way to my heart is by passing through the checkout at Best Buy. Anything shiny that deals somehow with electronics is bound to make me smile! So I got 3 DVD box sets I've been wanting badly plus dinner and drinks after which he drove home. I gave him a day of his choice in NYC, complete with the bestest Yankee tix he can purchase when they become available, ridiculously expensive desserts on Mulberry Street, and dinner at Virgil's, our favorite BBQ joint.

Let's just say one of the phrases my wife used last night was:

"I'm the ONLY one in this house who..."

Strategic withdrawal follows...

BTW She liked the roses, enjoyed the dinner I cooked.

Thursday night I had an absolute panic attack about the gift I was getting for the DH, so I had to explain the "ordeal" I was having. My original idea was a big hit, but the idea I ended up with was a bust. He's going to exchange the latter idea for the first.

Since he found out his gift on Thursday, he let me open mine. Diamond earrings to go with a diamond necklace I got a few years ago for our anniversary. I've worn the necklace maybe a dozen times. I rewrapped the earrings, so the girlie could see me open them.

Yesterday morning DH and I exchanged gifts with the girlie. She got a faux fur coat (on sale for $18 ) because her other winter coat is too small. She absolutely loved it. He works on Saturdays, so the girlie and I had a nice day together.

We had planned to go to lunch together as a family for our VDay celebration, but the girlie didn't want to go and asked if she could stay at Grandma's...I called and they said sure.

I got gussied up (with aforementioned earrings and necklace), as did the DH and we headed to Carrabas. After Carrabas I went to the gym, and back home.

I still have the earrings on. Maybe if I don't take them off, I'll wear them more.

Mine was pretty crappy. It coulda been worse, but I worked all day then went hang out at a friend's house and drank for a few hours. Couldn't really drink much because I had to drive home, and there wasn't a whole lot of fun there.

Keep in mind that I have been divorced for about 5 years and haven't even had a date for about 3 years.....

Met a really nice gal at an autism conference a while back...I take her a dozen red roses and the new Norah Jones CD...she makes me lasanga and pecan pie....we were going to go out to a movie but we just ended up talking and.... cuddle .....so this morning.....she stuffs her skimpy black panties from last night into my pocket and says "think about me"... pink love

He got a new pair of Mizunos and I got a knife from the gun show we went to.

It's a cool knife with a sheath that goes on my key ring and the knife is just a blade that fits over my finger.

It's from TOPS Knives

I dragged Delta to a Civil War re-enactment thingy at Calico Ghost Town. It turned out to be a great adventure; he really enjoyed the historical aspects and demonstrations, I had innumerable photo ops. We had a gourmet lunch of grilled hot dogs, Doritos, baked beans and brownies. I also tried my first ever Diet Coke with Lime -----> thumbs up thumbs up Mr. Green

We had a great time, but I don't know yet if I got any good photos. Wink

The Lovely Bride was working all weekend, so the kiddies and I went to her work and had lunch with her. We just bought cards for each other this year.

Babysitter got to our house on time--1st good sign (even on Friday the 13th)

Pebbs and I went to Pittsburgh checked into our room and headed to our new favorite haunt---- stayed thru Happy Hour ( $3 Martinis)
Headed back to Hotel and got ready for a late dinner
Post dinner went to nightclub and people watched and danced til closing.

Had a great Valentine's brunch, headed back to the neighborhood to spend the rest of the day with the kiddos... Smile

I booked the Ranger an hour long massage for V-Day and while he was busy, I got an hour in on the eliptical. I got to watch a documentary on SKA music as each machine had it's own flat screen with cable hookup.

Then, we went down to the steam room and had silly conversations for a little while and then I went to cool down in the pool while he continued to poach.

We both left there feeling the same way even though we had done different things.

Ahhhhhhh.
