Worked from 7 till noon. Took the kid over to a buddies house, kid rode my buddies Yamaha Grizzly 600 4 wheeler for a while while we tinkered with a different 4 wheeler and downed a couple of cold ones. Buddies wife comes home from grocery shopping - 4 kids equals a lot of groceries. Me and the kid helped her take groceries in house, made her happy. Down to shoot pool for a bit, back home for dinner and a visit from my sister and nephew. And got a very nice card from someone ....

One question? what's the redemption value of "big points scored"?
Yeah that's right. i scored big. She had told me emphatically , NO ROSES OR CHOCOLATE!!!. ok, so much for cliche, huh?
so her favorite flowers are daisies. I can deal. She also had told me she wanted to turn her fireplace (never used in the last 50 years ) into a candle/rock garden. she even had three large (20 pounders) rocks in her front yard she wanted to use. So Friday night i go to the local stream bed and pull out 7 more of equal to half size of what she has and bike them to her place, hide them. Saturday after she went to work i went over and set them up in the driveway so the rrain would start to wash them off, bike for flowers and candles, card. come over and use the "hidden" key set up the garden and the flowers with card on the table just off the fireplace. I went for a run and saw she was home. When i got home i called her and she was most pleased with her flowers and card but never mentioned the fireplace. i'm thinking maybe not what she wanted in terms of setup/display? scented candles bothering her? Me in her house when she's not there?? So i finally decide after 15 minutes on the phone on what she thought about the fireplace design. I can here the puzzlement in her voice and the sudden switch to astonishment. We spent from 7 till 1 am there in front of the fireplace. and never noticed the time passing at all.

Spent Saturday morning doing homework that was due that night. While I was doing that I also waxed the truck (first time in a couple years ).
Saturday afternoon I got some lumber for a project my dad's working on and moved some boxes from my parents house to my house.
Finished the day off with eating pizza in front of the TV by myself.

Keith made breakfast: grilled cheese and Doritos. Then we sat on the couch all day watching Childs Play, Childs Play 2, and The Bride of Chucky.
*sigh* How romantic...

Grilled cheese and Doritos sounds just fine by me....
My last two Sunday morning breakfast creations were pancakes/home made french fries and yesterday was pancakes and dinner rolls.... me and the kid thought they were perfect breakfast fare. I've been informed by various females that we have bizarre eating habits.

You and Keith set the standard for romance.
My weekend just doesn't compare.

I agree. Diet Coke with Lime rocks! |
Word Up! I had my first one a couple of weeks ago.
As for V-Day. The gf and I went to my sis's for the niece's birfday. We had dinner reservations at 9pm at one of the better restaurants. She had prime rib, I had apple & maple syrup glazed pork tenderloin that was truly remarkable. We stayed after for some drinks, but since it's a small coastal town in the middle of winter, everything closed at midnight.
Back at the Inn, we found out the hot tub was closed at 10pm. But it was a fantastic evening and weekend, nonetheless.
