I'm gonna have to vote Comcast. My internets has been more down than up at home lately.
Why is it so hard to keep high-speed internet up and running? Why don't I have to call the electric and gas companies every time the wind changes direction and knocks out my service?

None of 'em actually. We have few, if any issues with them.
The only people we deal with in that regard to any extent is our health insurance.

Not much here either.
Prolly the power company I suppose. Livin' in the land of tall timber, any kind of windstorm is going to topple some monster pine and snap a line. So a few times a year when the power goes out, I always call pronto and it's never more than an hour or two before the line is patched wherever it broke in the 'hood.

Look at the bright side. You must not have a cable phone or you culd not even call the cable company to tell them your internet is down!

Right now it's probably Cingular for the 2 minutes it takes to pay my bill. But historically it has always been the phone company (Bellsouth). I've moved several times and when trying to change address, it was easily an hour wait on the phone. I think the phone company is trying to be ironic by having the worst phone service.

We haven't had a major utility "problem" in years. If I had to guess it would be the cable company and even that has been dormant for a long time now.
We did get a cabe/TV/High speed failure a couple of weeks ago when we had a major fire in the area. The heat melted a major cable company cable that was right in front of the building.

i will second that vote. you all know the trouble i had the first three months i lived in the house. recently it took me two weeks to pay a bill over the phone and cancel the internet and phone (which im still not sure actually happend).
