Not sure if anyone here knew I was kinda sad cuz my Mom is out in Montana with my baby brother, ok he's 30. I realized on Saturday this is the first time in 43 I've not had my Mom for Christmas. cry

Anyhoo remember my story a few months ago about Mom going out to Montana to help with my brothers first born and then she came back with the baby n my brother's GF and surprised me one day at the gym? Well the GF who has 2 little boyz 4 n 7 I believe who she left with her x called Mom a few weeks ago and said her x was getting divorced and wanted to send the 2 boyz to Montana to live with her n my brother. It had always bothered me that she just left the boyz but I didn't judge her, I didn't know the whole story. I still don't.

So Mom took the 2 little boyz on the train to Montana on Dec. 14th. She said she would return between Christmas n New Years. The boyz still think they are just visiting for Christmas and coming home with my Mom too. Sad

Mom called last night and I was surprised that she broke down, she too realized she was without us for the first time ever for the holiday. Mom isn't an emotional person usually and I was sad but comforted by the fact that she was hurting too. She then told me some very disturbing news. She wasn't sure when she would be home now??!! My brother and his GF work nights and she has been watching all 3 boyz since she has been there. I'm not sure why but a couple days ago she went to the place where the baby had been going to daycare. Anyway, she told me she absolutely could not ever let the baby (3 mos) return to this place. Shocked She said it's a dump and looks like a shack we would burn down. A wood burning stove in the middle of the living room, second floor apartment and is a fire trap. The people have kids too and Mom said they were really, really dirty.

She wants to stay and take care of the kids till they find another place for them to be. I agree and am strugging with the fact that my nephew had to spend several weeks in this environment to begin with. Again, I don't know these people, but this just sounds horrible and makes me sad. I'm not sure why my brother and the GF had the baby there anyway. I know my Mom said nobody wants to watch kids at night for one thing. I hope they find someplace safe for the boyz.

Some good thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for listening. Neutral

A good thought? Here's one: Your mom is in the right place and and the right time. You should be relieved to know that the kids have her there, now.

I'm sorry. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. I know very much what it is like to have family problems, and want to help, but at the same time only be able to do so much and the frustration and panic that accompanies it. You want to make everything better, but no one person can do that.

I hope things get better for you soon.

I agree with everyone before- your mom is doing the absolute right thing. I hope she sets a time limit with the parents or else she will be the permanent nanny.

How are the other two kids doing ?
