Update on the Channel swim

Not good news I'm afraid. Apparently the weather over there is foul to say the least.
Time is running out as they have only booked the pilot and official observer for ten days which runs out Thursday. Having a boat, pilot and channel association official on standby is rather expensive.
But the attempt will go ahead rain, hail or shine, either midnight on Monday or midday Tuesday depending on what the pilot decides will be the best conditions.
The water temprature has dropped too.
Keep your finger's crossed for some good weather.

Got a phone call this morning our time (6.30am. Wednesday)
The swim got underway midnight last night. They have been swimming for 8 hours in reasonable conditions. Was told everyone handling the cold water so far but a couple of them are suffering from sea sickness both swimming and on board the boat.
