Dear Boss:

I regret to inform you that the vacation that you approved seven months ago will not be terminated to meet your convenience. In case you have forgotten, my husband has just returned to the US after a lengthy tour in Iraq and I will spend as much time with him and my family together as possible.

Perhaps it's my own perception, but the mere fact that you would suggest that I return to work at this crucial bonding time for us sounds selfish and self-serving and I know that this is not how you mean to come across.

Please do not call me to return to work again.

I will see you bright and early on Monday, Sept 26th, and not until.

Signed,

Army Wife (aka Support Warrior)

Dear Boss.

My man just got back from a long time away. I will be too tired, too sore and too horny to come into work. Any attempt to interrupt this reunion will invoke a wrath unforseen by mankind before. cya in two weeks

Under your circumstances, no way I'd cut into that time. None.

Besides, I thought we were quitting that job?

Are you trying to be a team player or are you just punching a clock? Is your sacrifice appreciated? Is the favor returned in some way? Do you hope for bigger and better things from your boss (and vice versa?)

I agree with what has been said. If it was approved well in advance, then no way I would cut my vacation short

What do you mean, tried?

Didn't the resignation letter help? If you didn't submit one, wait until you get back from vacation maybe they will have fired you and you can get unemployment. You should take a copy of your approved vacation request with you.

Well, I didn't give him a letter. I just told him I was bone-tired exhausted and if I didn't get time off, I really needed to quit. He said he didn't want to lose me. He said he was afraid that there were some office politics going on and that he didn't want "those" type of people pushing people like me out of a job. He didn't believe me that I was tired.

I am not trying to go anywhere in this company. I will be leaving this company within the next 6 months prolly anyhow due to husband's job moving us elsewhere.

Truly the only reason I went, is there are four people in the office- The boss had to have emergency surgery and of the other two in the office, only one is trained to open and close, and it would have meant 5 days of 12-14 hour days for her--and I didn't want her to burn out. I knew the head office would never send them support--so I tried to take care of my office mates--because they don't deserve burnout, either. So, I didn't do it for my superiors, I did it for my cow-orkers. Will I get it back? No. (In fact, last week they were both sick at the same time for almost the entire week)

It was just hard to be charitable and have a good Christian heart. I am not a nice person. Mad

ya know...even tho Jesus did all that He was put here to do, who's to say He LIKED it??? Having it hard for you to do and not doing it are two very different things. You were/are EXTREEMLY charitable AND Christian. Although I don't know you personally, I'm pretty sure you're a nice person too
