Having been a pilot myself I would have to disagree with you. It is difficult to manuever around the no-fly zone in the DC area...and it has recently changed (added no-fly space). I can see where it would be a mistake some people would make...which is why I gave up my pilot lessons when I moved to this area. I just don't want to make that mistake! |
Basically it's all a no-fly zone there though since 9/11 and the Mall area has always been a no fly zone as far back as i know ,1970's.

Of course the question that begs an answer is...why did no one flag his flight plan??

The mall, yes. Yes, they changed it basically since 9/11 but I also think there have been changes made since then as well. The no fly zone keeps getting bigger and bigger.
...if only they would make a no fly zone around Dulles...then I could sleep better at night!
