I'm more pumped about Great Britain's Trials. I think something pretty amazing is going to happen. It's driving me crazy.
Back to the US, is Goucher running?

Here's a link to the entrants. Looks like Adam is qualified but hasn't
declared he's running the 5km. Busting in the top 3 would be tough from where's he's at.
His wife Kara won't make the top 3 in the 5km either, but I expect she'll turn a few heads. She's a northern MN native ya know

I used to watch the former Miss Wheeler run in high school on those couple of meets my school went up to Duluth and Cloquet (our section meet was in Cloquet). Kara and her sister Kendall just ripped it up in high school.
I'm recording every bit of the trials that i can find on tv.

Finally a good use for that tv set
The next couple weekends should have some good stuff. In the distance running, I'm expecting there will be some great races slapped down by Marla, Deena, Alan, Jorge, Meb, and Bob.
Anybody else pumped? |
Now i'm pumped! I just saw that Jacob Koczman is trying to qualify in the 800! I went to college with him, he's a really good guy. He looks to be a long shot, but i'm pumped!

I'd put him in the top ten. Those high altitude runners can come outta nowhere

He won Mt Sac this year.
This is him in February (to the right). I've decided that not being able to levitate is what is really holding me back.

I'm looking forward to it.
Hopefully the emphasis will be on the athletes and not MJ and the doping allegations.

Several of my friends are on the bubble on qualifying. I'm not sure when they officially announce who is in the trials and who isn't, but it looks like one of them will make it, and one will not. Now that I live in Eugene, it is neat to have a bunch of locals to cheer for as well.
I've seen Goucher race this year, and he isn't anywhere close to top form. If he races the trials, he won't be a factor. Marla had an awful early part of the year, but that might have been a good thing as it delayed her training and racing, and she is really looking strong now when it is important. Webb should be untouchable in the 1500m. Look for Ritz and Browne to be factors in the longer distances.

Local Trent Briney is going to be cheering like mad for Culpepper, Meb, and Browne in any event they run.
He finished 4th in the Marathon Trials and would move up if one of those 3 were to qualify/compete in an another event.

Probably not, but it was so surreal to see him running on TV in the freaking Olympic Trials.
The British guy I cheer for had a good day in his trials. Looks like he gets to go to his 3rd straight Olympic games!
