Thinking about doing the half marathon. Any thoughts/suggestions/comments?

It looks like it'd be a great race in a great location.

Edit:

Does this race sell out? I may not know definitely if I can do it until early November and if I have to secure a spot before then, I will.

If I can get a fast 5K in this year, I may shoot for a little vacation time in Tybee for 2005.

I'm running the 1/2.
As far as I know it does not sell out. PackerBacker ran the full last year.

I ran the Tybee Marathon last year and enjoyed everything but the wind.

The marathon and half run the first loop of the island together so the second loop can get kinda lonely once those guys are through.

It is about as flat a course you'll find and there aren't a whole lot of spectators but organization is pretty good.

I'm running a marathon January and if that goes well, Tybee will be in my plans in February.

Change of plans. I decided I'm just going to work on building my base instead of gunning for a half right now.

Guess not.

I probably would've been risking an injury and not properly building for this upcoming tri season. I'll be there in spirit.

Pokychick,
I'll be at Tybee. Ran a marathon January 15th and have recovered fairly well so looking forward to Tybee. I registered today for the marathon and made condo reservations so there's no turning back.

Good luck to you.

Good luck to you, too! I signed up for the 1/2. I'm really looking forward to it.
