Posted: 05/16/06 - 18:35 Post subject: Two hour lunch approved so off to the gym I go.
I work from 6:00am to theoretically 3:00pm, but am usually there until 5:00 or 6:00pm. Then I rush home, get my 1 hour run in, fix supper around 7:30 and get to bed at 10:00pm to get up at 4:30am and repeat.
But my office and I have compromised. I come in at my regular time. At 11:30 I go to the gym (LA Fitness) and do whatever I want - spinning, treadmills, weights. But I'm not due back to the office until 1:30 and since it's very rare I leave before 4:30 I still get my 8 hours+ in.
So now if I can't get out of the office until 6:00, no big deal. My evening schedule is much more manageable. Maybe I'll even get to bed at 9:00pm

Well, I did fine on the treadmill yesterday. But I DNF'd my first try at spinning. Got to the class a few minutes early so the instructor could show me how the stationary bike worked so I wouldn't be a complete klutz. I kept up with the instructor for 40 minutes and decided I really needed a shower. After I finished my shower, got dressed and headed out the door they were still going strong.
I'll be doing the spin classes on Mon & Wed so I get to try again.

You're going to love spin class. I wish I could afford to belong to the gym still. Maybe next year. I need to look into the flex time thing. Running at lunch would be ideal. No shower facilities here, though.

When I worked at the National Guard HQ in NY, I took about 1.5 hours a day for lunch. I spend my time at the gym. Although there were about 500 - 600 people working there only about the same 15 - 20 were there regularly.

I wish I could get out during lunch hours to exercise. My job is very deadline driven since its the marketing field. I usually have to find time for working out during the morning or evening.

I'm at work at 6:00am, and usually not off until 6:00pm. But there tends to be a lull period from 11 to 1:00pm so that's the best time for fitting my runs in during the week. Weekends my runs are all outside.
