everyone always talks about what they like about thanksgiving dinner...well what do you not like?
1. stuffing with raisins - this is just plain wrong
2. not a cranberry fan
3. really lumpy mashed potatoes- if you're gonna mash 'em do the job, ok
4. My Mother-in-Law says "Happy Turkey!" to everyone...not Happy Thanksgiving, not anything else, just "Happy Turkey!" After you hear it about six times in the same day...it gets old fast...and now I've grown to fear it...I know it's coming, but can't avoid it.

My niece and nephew's table manners. Among other things the worst is chewing with their mouths open. I really can NOT deal with chewing with the mouth open and thats all they do
Also this cranberry jello fruit nut etc salad my mom makes every year. gimme the regular cranberries or the canned stuff or nuttin.
And that the only football on is the cowboys and the lions. Yawn! Who cares?

When we're with family, I hate that I HAVE to hang out with the wimmins. Whether that means cleaning up, washing dishes, gossiping, shopping.
Ruins a perfectly good meal every time.
I'd rather be with the guys watching the tv, visiting the car lots, visiting the job site. (See, they want to get away too!!)

I love it ALL!!!
The cranberries, raisins, jello, green bean salad, the stuffed feeling after I devour a slice of each pie.
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

My favorite dislike used to be: having Thanksgiving dinner at my parents' house early (noonish) AND having Thanksgiving dinner at my in-laws' house later (5:30-ish)...I was always more than happy to be at the firehouse on Thanksgiving day - premium pay and no two-dinner hassle.
Maybe the dislike was due to the fact that I couldn't even have dinner here, in my own home, with my wife and son. And maybe dinner here was more inviting because, post-meal, I could fall out and vegetate.
These days it's alternating years between parents and parents-in-law. And that's cool because one day, sadly, it'll be here and not at either place.

Similarly, I hate that the men just sit there while the women do all the cooking. So, the rule in our house is that the men do the cleaning up.

Pie
I am not a pie person at all. I don't think I've ever eaten an entire piece of pie anything.

Turkey
The 2 day fuss over a 30 min. meal (my mother is appalled that we eat out)
Okay, pretty much the whole Holiday. I look forward to the Turkey Trot in the am, and the Cowboys in the afternoon. Oh, and the fact I'm off work.

The fact that I can't get crazy drunk around my parents.
My grandmother says Happy Turkey Day, and is a little... out there...
You're forced to associate with family for several hours with no break.
I have to go home.
