Another awesome day in East Tennesee, sunny and 62 degrees when I ran.

I found a new trail to run!!! Or, rather a new bike path. New to me. Right in town. It's part of the Ohio to Erie Bike Trail in Ohio. Kind of under-developed and rough for bikes. It was either the railroad bed or the towpath trail or both; there is a drainage canal which may have been the canal bed at the side. Cinders, dirt, patches of asphalt. I only ran two miles up it; I am hoping this section goes at least 10 miles so I could have a new out and back trail to run. So, 4.6 miles running, then went over to the gym and did my core workout. A nice workout day. The new trail pumped me up!

Sounds like the Virginia Creeper trail, and many other similar ex-railroads that are being converted into bike paths. I don't get it... they make for boring mountain bike trails, yet they aren't paved so you can't use a road bike. It's mostly for cruisers... and people that aren't actually bikers, but think it would be fun to try once.
Another run with the LSU running club tonight. 1 other person showed up. 2.5-3 miles to campus, 2.5 with the club, 2.5-3 miles home.

4 miles. Didn't even hit a fire hydrant (which, by the way, is apparently chest high on me. No kidding. I'm 5'9").

skated in and back from work today, no bike usage today. 8 miles totalled and even had yelled at me in the AM. "GREAT car dude!" by a middle aged driver in an old Chevette looking car. (he looked granola)
think i'll skate Wednesday too.
