Trainer questions

I am at the point where I was looking to get an exercise bike, but I saw elsewhere here where someone recommended a trainer. That is a good idea but I really don´t know what to look for in buying one. I have a few questions about these.

Will they work with a mountain bike?
What is a good starter model?
What are the key things to look for in a trainer?

If you have one, what model do you have?

The will work on a mountain bike, but it would be better to switch out the wheels to road tires. It will be quieter that way and won't wear out the MTB tires

I am using a Cycle-ops Mag Trainer. Retails for around 150-160 bucks. I like the mag trainers versus the fan trainers for the reduced noise factor

This is my third trainer in as many years. The previous two were fan trainers, and were noisy and I broke both of them Embarassed
