If I were color analyst for a blowout NCAA game, these are things I would probably talk about:

My dad works with Larry Eustachy's father in law. Not that any of the three guys are in the Big Dance, but the Cyclones won which made me think about it.

My neighbor, the guy that got me back into running as a replacement for basketball a few years ago, was a high school teammate of Northern Iowa's coach.

I won a 3 on 3 tournament with Clarence Weatherspoon.

I attended the first ever basketball game in the Memphis Pyramid, which sucks because they now have the FedEx Forum.

I sat in the middle of the Marquette band when they played Cincy for the C-USA title in 1994.

I've played basketball against someone named Larry Bird, and he wasn't white.

I've played against TWO Michael Jordans, but both were white.

My sophomore year of high school, they didn't have a 3 point line (or baggy shorts).

I played college basketball during the 100th anniversary season of the sport.

I lead my team in technical fouls and won the Sportsmanship Award in the same season.

I know what a Saluki is. I also know that back in the 80's, they had a promotion where they would donate $100 to charity for every dunk made in a game. They registered one dunk the entire season.

I'm calling my friend from Kentucky tonight to ask him if he remembers watching the UK-Duke game with me in 1992. After UKs last points, he jumped up and starting to cheer, taunt, and celebrate. He even turned off the TV and declared the game over. My suitemates (who all hated Duke) joined in the fun. In pure Ian Michael Black form, I calmly got up and turned the TV back on and told them "the game had not yet reached its official conclusion". Even though I was just buying time, I looked like a genius 2.1 seconds later.

Speaking of, do they have to put UK and Duke in the same bracket EVERY year?

The madness is setting in......
