Since I've filled up the car with gas.  I've still got maybe 1/8th of a tank left, but my sister is coming home this weekend and I will have to drive to Opelousas.

I'm way jealous. I usually only fill up once per week though, so I'm happy with that. Last semester when I wasn't technically a campus student, I did so much back and forth from campus that I was filling up twice per week. That sucked lemons.

It's the native Indian tribe's word for boring.
But seriously, it's named for the Opelousa Indians. I'm sure the founding fathers stole their land and figured naming the town would be sufficient payment.
