I entered the lottery for the 2007 Tokyo Marathon. I won't know until sometime in September if I'm in. But I've already checked airfares and hotels for those date and they are not as expensive as I've heard Tokyo can be.
If anyone else wants to tag along, let me know. (Dutch treat, of course )

Yeah, but I have 7.5 hours to complete the marathon. They will have 5 or more "gates" which you must have passed by a certain time or you are automatically disqualified.
Sydney had a similar layout when I ran it except we had to finish the marathon within 5 hours and the checkpoints were accordingly adjusted.
The route for the Tokyo Marathon looks pretty interesting.
