There is something known to keep kids healthy - frequent hand washing and no swapping spit. Very, very hard to do with little ones however. I felt like I lived at the doctor's office for a while. Hope they are feeling well soon.

Hallelujah! Can't believe how many of the neighborhood kids are surprised when I ask them to wash their hands when given a snack.
Oh, and I try to steer people clear of those indoor playgrounds and the ones at fast food places. Unfortunately, parents take their kids there when they are sick (coughing, sneezing, drooling, etc.) and infect every other child there. I have no patience for that crap.

Unfortunately a LOT of the stuff that affects kids is viral and viruses do not respond well to drugs. I think there are some new vaccines in the works but they are pretty far to go in development.
Isn't there anything natural-wise that is safe to give kids to boost their immune systems? I'd check at a reputable health food store or ask a naturopathic doc if you know one.

Hey Joe, as soon as I get over this head cold, I'll get right to work on it.
As long as your kids are in school/daycare they're gonna get sick. You can't do anything about viruses, but if you let your kids play in the dirt and don't use antibacterial everything, they'll build stronger immune systems. And feed 'em good. A healthful diet is the best defense.
