check these forums out! http://www.tivocommunity.com/
okay, I've only read like 3 threads over there, too many people, but still...
J1, search for the show, example, Amazing race. When it comes up, select "get season pass". Done. I love Tivo
If the show dosen't come up, it means there aren't any episodes in the next 2 weeks (it only has 2 weeks of programming at a time. In which case you can set up a "wishlist" and have it autorecord. If you need help with this (and its about as tough as the above ) let me know.

Two weeks of programming? That is seriously better than the DVR through Time Warner.

my friend has the Time Warner DVR (or the one they have down here) and its a DVR, but is seriously lacking a lot of Tivo's cooler features and Tivo's slightly more accurate programming (my friend has missed shows). The only advantage it has over Tivo is the whole "tape 2 shows at the same time". The best you can do with Tivo is rig it so you can watch one while taping the other. I imagine Tivo will come out with a dual recorder soon enough though.
But, fwiw, my friend after playing with my Tivo is ditching Time/Warner for a cheaper satellite and buying a Tivo and saving a bunch every month.

Yeah, I do like the two shows at one time, though I'm not sure exactly how much I use that. Sometimes.
It's a little wonky in trying to figure out what episode is actually playing as there isn't always a description (there is for the major networks, but not always for the minor ones).
The wishlist is a great idea, I wish I had that.

I'm thinking of upgrading my dish network to the DVR package this summer.
The only downside is that you can't tape things that you aren't watching. That stinks.
