What musical acts (solo artists and/or bands) do you still love despite them being considered extremely uncool? Along the lines of some of my favs:
KC & the Sunshine Band:
Earth, Wind, & Fire:
ABBA:
Donna Summer:
Duran Duran:
Howard Jones:
I think several of these bands will one day become cool. I remember a time when U2 was considered uncool. Strangely enough, they were much better back then.
What say you?

If those are all uncool, my tastes are so 'out' I'm probably back 'in' again... I like all of those.
Plus, as you know I adore Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow, The Carpenters, still have a place for NKOTB, Poison, I will always love the Beegees, Kenny Rogers, Charlie Daniels, Willie Nelson is pretty much the shiz and then there is my classical music library (did I hear a snore in the back?)....I need to think, my collection is rife with 'uncool' music, this is only just the beginning (or should I say "We've only just begun....")

Earth Wind and Fire is still cool, PLUS their taste in clothing is exceptional.

I love EW&F. Sadly, a lot of people do not.
And I publicly admit I love everyone pfffff mentioned. Except for New Kids.

I seek out old K-Tel records. And play them. They're so scratched it sounds like someone made a crackling fire.

Here's an uncool one: Lyle Lovett.
I think Michael Jackson recently shifted into 'uncool'. Innocent, guilty, skinless, whatever, I still love his music.
Oooohhh uncool: All my musical soundtracks (and especially uncool is me singing to them. Loudly.)

I have "Songbird" and "High Voltage" on vinyl.
What makes Lyle Lovett uncool?

Agree with all of elkid's, except ABBA. But LC likes them, so you get one of three from the doghouse on that one.
Pffffff.... I just don't know about you sometimes. Manilow, Diamond, and the Carpenters? Even though LC likes the the first and last, throw in Barbra Streisand, and you have the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

I think that cool is relative, so it's hard to say. I do like most of the bands listed, though.

Metallica.
They are as uncool as anyone, but their early stuff (Master of Puppets) is great.
