Ran at the Armory Track and Field Center in Washington Heights tonight. I had a blast! You pay $8 and can run in any event or events that you want!
I ran my first track mile ever in 5:45. It was really tough!
I ran in the 10,000m (10-person relay, 200m legs only- each athlete runs five 200's). That Kicked my ass! You ran one lap at a time. My 200's were as follows (rounded to nearest second):
30
30
33
33
33
I had a really good time, and the Armory is something else. I believe a world record was broken there tonight, as well.

That sounds like it would be a lot of fub! I don't think we've got anything like that around here.

That is something I would have to do at least once.
Did you get assigned to that team or did you know who you were running with.

I ran with The Van Cortlandt Track Club, which I joined a few months ago. It will start again next year, so maybe we could plan to get together next year. It is great, because there are all different levels there, from world record caliber to masters to beginners. Very friendly enviroment.

Oh yea, if I did it all at once! It was a relay, so I would run a 200, pass the baton, wait for 9 other runners, get the baton....
I had about 4 minutes between 200's! It really kicked my ass!
No elbows, but it did get pretty hectic.

The last 3 were brutal. The air in the Armory is really dry.
