First you should do a checkup with your physician. After he confirms that everything is OK (which I am sure it is) you come back and read this article one more time. The fact is, you should never; I repeat, NEVER sit or stand immediately after the race. Your leg muscles contain too much blood during the race. This is a normal process since the most of the work is done there. They need a lot of oxygen and it takes a lot of blood to deliver it. When you stop the blood is still down there and your brain lacks sufficient supply of oxygen. If such condition remains for a couple of minutes your brain is suffering to that extent that you may throw up or even faint. It is of utmost importance that you keep walking for a 5 minutes following a long race in order to pump up the blood from the legs to the brain.
