I realize I'm lame. I don't watch the Apprentice or any other reality TV show.

But I am aware that the show is about people competing with each other to become a high level Trump employee. My understanding was that the people on the show were successful in business prior to being selected.

Having said all of that, what CEO would hire any of those women for a serious high level position after doing a picture like that? Win or lose, wouldn't the exposure on the show be a great resume for someone and help them score a sweet Jay-oh-bee with someone else? And would following that up with a picture like that wipe out the credibility those women had achieved? It is a free world and women are empowered, but that kind of stuff contradicts professionalism, IMO.

I'd say the same if the guys did a photo shoot like that or if they wound up on the next Wrestlemania PPV.

Runner X is very smart.

I am going to have to agree with everything he just said (and I am equally lame as I don't watch those shows either).

I have to disagree with you folks, I suppose.

While the women here are doing something that could be construed as unprofessional, it is also not done on business hours, either. While they represent themselves, they are not doing anything exceptionally lurid or scandalous. They are just allowing sexy photos of them to be taken.

If a CEO or executive of a company you worked for did this, you may be upset. If he/she did it six months before they came on board, then they are not representing your company, and it is not your business in any way, shape, or form.

I don't think it matters when. By doing this spread and/or just being on the show, any of those girls are publicly recognizable, for good and for bad. By hiring these girls after the fact, the company is approving of all that went along with those images by making them part of their company's image, etc.

As unrelated or irrelevant as these things may seem, they matter to future employers, especially in the types of positions the Apprentice candidates would be going for (ie, highly visible, high ranking, etc).

I understand your point. It isn't wrong until everyone knows about it.

There is nothing illegal about watching porn or having too much too drink on occasion. But if a person saw you getting a lap dance or drunk off your butt at Senor Tadpoles and then you showed up for an interview with them a week later - your chances of getting the job have been greatly diminished.

Responsibility, self discipline, and professionalism. For a high level leadership job, you'll need those things.

Again, from the angle of you NOT having the job to begin with.

I guess this falls under the question of what is, or more importantly, isn't deemed appropriate, and by whom.

I can't imagine that anyone would find it inappropriate for a "normal" woman to dress scantily for a magazine shoot like this. There is nothing pornographic involved, doesn't seem exploitative, etc. If someone truly finds this offensive, then I have to question issues that person may have.

In terms of whether or not this is appropriate for a business professional, I think it is a matter of opinion. The fact that the woman posed doesn't make her less capable of representing a company, but it may put doubt in some people's minds about where her priorities are at.

At the same time, consider the conduct of these women on "The Apprentice". While you originally stated that you thought the show would be a great resume builder, you feel that this contradicts professionalism. I disagree with this statement, because in many cases, the women overtly use their sexuality as a weapon of their disposal to succeed in the show. if you know one of these women from the show, and that is why the point is a "booster" to her resume, and know that she uses her sexuality for her advantage, then you deserve to neither be surprised nor dismayed when she poses in a non-pornographic (albeit somewhat private) manner, using her sexuality to further market herself and grow her fame.

I see - I don't watch the show, so I missed that.

If they act like they look in that picture, then that is an even bigger discredit for the legit career women out there.

So is this show a big joke? They get hot looking ho's to compete for the boardroom? Is it just entertainment or does Trump really hire these people... if so, for what?

I'd say the show is 50-50.

Half the women are jokes; they shake their asses in front of people to win challenges and make sales. The other half are legit, solid businesswomen that are then canned because The Donald prefers men as his reality show winners.

I'm not criticizing your taste in television shows, but to me this sounds horribly depressing to watch. Or is it funny? (I've never seen it either, obviously).
