Scary stuff. I wonder if they intentionally detonated it right there, in front of the homeowners front door, or if it was an accident. I hope it was the latter, because that just seems ill advised to do it on purpose.

From what I remember about the article, they confirmed there were explosives in the box so it was apparently safer to explode it there than trying to move it.

From what I remember about explosive devices, once they confirm the existence of explosives, they will blow it up or try to defuse it. Usually its the latter first and former as a last resort. My thoughts are that they probably blew it up where it was for fear of detonating while moving it.

I'd rather them blow up their robot en route than the front of my house.
