Has running taught you to think in the metric system?
I know before I started running, I had no idea how far a Kilometer was compared to a mile. Since I've started cycling, I can now kind of think in grams and kilograms.

Only for shorter distances, like 5k, 8k, 10k. I do conversions there, plus i always end up thinking "1600 meters is not exactly a mile, i have to back up 9 meters for the first lap".

I only think in metric for running races.
Everything else is miles, feet, inches, etc...
I figure the rest of the world will come around to our system at some point, cuz I see no way that the US population is gona change over 200 years of tradition.

Who remembers this phrase: "We'll be metric by 1980!"
The good side of metric: it makes a lot of sense
The bad side of metric: If you're coming from English, it's hard to determine how much a gram or decimeter is.

Nope, but living in Spain for 30 months did...a kilometer was a klick...you didn't buy fresh shrimp by the pound, you bought it by the kilo and boy, was it ever cheap!
I still think in feet, yards, and miles when I run.
