Lucinda Williams... can't decide if I like her latest song. sound like a southern accent with marbles in her mouth. But it's catchy.
Jack Johnson... local radio station's CD of the week. due to be released next week, can't wait.
Arts Festival this year has a fab musical lineup: Wilco, Kathleen Edwards, Delbert McClinton, Casey Chambers (!), Joan Armitrady, The Iguanas (new to me, but good), Bill Deasy, Sonic Youth (is this the old band??), Boney James, Mustard Retreat, Squonk Opera, Box Step, Mustard Retreat... all for FREE, yes FREE
Ignition by R. Kelly... can't explain why I like this song but I do.
Anybody remember Peter Murphy's stuff from the 80's? Good stuff.
What cha listening to?

Went and bought both of the Gear Daddies old albums. Anyone heard of them? A Minnesota band from the mid-90's. I had the discs in college, but must have sold them off. Brings back memories!

The jury's still out but I think I do like the Lucinda Williams song. Her southern accent is what I like about her.
I like Delbert McClinton...and all those FOR FREE?? Can I come?
I'm embarrassed but I'll admit I really like the Ignition re-mix.
I'll give you that Toot! Toot! She'll gimme that Beep! Beep!
but, why does this guy still have a career? Isn't he in prison? of course, why should this stop him, Tupac has one still and he's dead...
I've been listening to a new cd my sister gave me by Cross Canadian Ragweed and a lot of 80s lately....

I've not heard Lucinda's newest song, but I have always liked her music.
Love Delbert.
I remember liking the Gear Daddies, but I can't remember any tunes.
I heard a song by the Massacoustics on the radio yesterday. I loved
the lyrics.
Under Achiever
Andy Thompson, Matt Thompson
I work one hour photographs,
go to the dentist for the gas,
Budwieser chair in my living room.
Cultivate a mullet on my head
Got a foot ball phone beside my bed
Bow flex machine I never use.
Everybody’s got a talent I think I found my nich
If there’s one thing I excel at it’s got to be this.
Chorus:
I’m an under achiever Yeah Yeah.
I’m an under achiever Yeah Yeah.
A major over sleeper a info-mercial believer
I’m an under achiever Yeah Yeah Yeah.
My sorry state perpetuates
Before I sweat I take a break
I’m going nowhere but I look cool
Wonder why the world has let me down
Who can take the blame for it now?
A god given gift I never knew
I do more slaking than should ever be allowed
I work well below the averages I need to say it proud
Chorus:
I’m an under achiever Yeah Yeah.
I’m an under achiever Yeah Yeah.
A major over sleeper a info-mercial believer
I’m an under achiever Yeah Yeah Yeah.

"Deep" remains one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time.
I'm so excited for this weekend my cow-orkers won't talk to me - they're really scared. So I'm spinning tunes on the discman. Currently Public Enemy's "Fear of a Black Planet". Before was Metallica's "Reload". Before that Rammstein's "Sehnsucht".
Yeah, it's one of those nicely violent kinda days.

Ummmm....I don't think I am allowed to listen to cool music anymore. Something about an age requirement.

You just don't have the benefit of a really cool radio station. If I were left up to my own devices my choices would be so very boring. Check out MY station's stream at: www.wyep.org I am a member!

FREE FREE FREE over the course of 2.5 weeks, everynight a live show outside. Last year I saw Nora Jones, Alejandro Escavedo, and somebody else (that I can't remember) on separate nights. Nora Jones said that it was the largest group she had ever played for. YES you can come!

I very often don't make it into town for those concerts but I have seen some good ones. Many years ago I saw Ella Fitzgerald FREE, down at the Festival, and not too many years ago (7 maybe) we saw Manhattan Transfer.
