I got back yesterday from 5 days in the windy city: 4 days for work, 1 for me. Here's what happened when I was gone according to Liv, Chloe and Brett:
  • On Friday, the 5 year old found a Sharpie and wrote on his walls, bed and dresser. I was told that Daddy, "kicked the stool in the basement" when he saw it. Husband had to take lunches to school because he forgot to make them.
  • On Saturday, Daddy carted all three children to Bubba's house (grandma for you non-Serbian folks) and then to Aunt Tina's. I was told that Bear, the dog, was "on doggy prozac so he's a good dog now".
  • On Sunday, they had popsicles for breakfast.
  • On Monday, Brett (5 yo) didn't want to go to school because he was told to wear pants (it was in the 30's). Compromise was that he wore long sleeves and shorts.
  • On Tuesday, I passed my husband as he walked to the bus stop in the afternoon to meet the kids. I didn't recognize him. He summed it up by saying that the kids told him he wasn't cool anymore.

I'm happy to be home.

Brett sounds alot like my 6 yr old Bryce. Weird we almost named him Brett! I make him wear pants we fought the shorts in winter thing for 2 years and I think he learned that he won't win on that. But just today I go to help out in the class and he's got them rolled up past his knees and then when we leave to go outside he throws on a knit hat.

i'm wondering if your husband gave you the "look" when you got back. you know, the look=if you ever do this to me again, so help me GOD, i will friggin' kill you type of look.

mine does not do well under mommy pressure. he always looks so damn frazzled and haggy.

That sounds exactly like what happens when I have to go somewhere.

Since I work in town, I always get the kids ready for school and stuff. If I have to go out of town for a couple of days, HOLY CRAP, I should really look into calling FEMA on those days.
