My BP has historically been on the high side of normal. I usually get a higher reading when trying to donate blood or visiting the doc (I get kinda squirrely around docs). Today it was low enough to give blood.

Wouldn't the pressure go down after they took some out anyway?

Did you pig out on cookies and juice afterwards? A big good on the donating though.

No your arteries and veins constrict automatically to keep the pressure up. I'm full of falsehoods today.

Yup. Had a couple of granola bars and Coke (not diet). I'm currently milking my cow-orkers for some of their freshly-delivered Girl Scout cookies!

Good thinking! Donating GS cookies in the name of the American Red Cross can be considered very noble!

140/90 is considered the upper limit of normal.

Do you have a history of high BP in your family? That seems pretty high for a condtioned athlete like yourself?

Runs in the family. Doc & I have decided to not go on medication right now, just watch the sodium like a hawk (which I admit I'm not very good at).
I know I'll have to on the meds sooner or later (sooner, really) but I'm fighting it like mad. I would feel like a failure if I had to rely on them. (It's all just in my head, I know.)

That is one thing I did retain from physics class.
