Wow, that was quick.....I've gotten two emails and a phone call today from that company in Madison I was telling you guys about!!! I just posted my resume to their site like Thursday!! We're playing phone tag now but I'm more intrigued. Either this is some real big scammy job or I am about to make a serious move to Madison......

What I got from her phone message is the job would be project management, which would require about 50% national travel--good for visiting Riff Raffers!!--to their customers, which are primarily large hospitals and doctors' offices. The job would be meeting with customers to assess their healthcare software needs and customizing the software to that, plus meeting with the end users doing some training on it, I think.....relocation to Madison is mandatory (oh darn Wink ) and the HR recruiter who called sounds reallllly nice. I SOOO hope this isn't a sales job, I am NOT a salesperson. If it's what it sounds like and the money's right, I am so outta here.....fubby

Please send good vibes....I'm not home right now and cellphone reception here sucks so I left my friend's # and am going to call her back in an hour if she doesn't call me. I really hope this isn't one of those too good to be true opportunities.

I've been looking at houses on a realtor site.....it appears to be cheaper to buy a single out there than what I can get one here for.....WOO HOOOO!!!!

Rando, you'll have to give me some advice on how big Dane County is and where I would or wouldn't wanna live. I've seen a couple nice houses in Stoughton and Albion, is that good?

J-Jaaaaaaayyyy...relocation to MADISON, dude....MANDATORY!!!

where's Albion??? never.heard.of.it. Stoughton use to be very blue collarish vs. Madison proper. Verona is the upper crust. Middleton is on their way (actually if housing is affordable....I'd think this would be a good fit). We were scouting homes 3 years ago and Middleton was getting a little pricey but it's pretty much connected to Madison and would have the Madtown feel. You start going Belleville, Stoughton, Oregon, SunPrairie and you lose that.

OOH OOH OOOOOH I want this job!!!! I just got off the phone with the HR person. This place is one of the most progressive thinking companies I have ever seen. Unbelievable. She said she hears that a lot. I should hear something on next steps within a week or two. She said they do phone screens with out of towners and then fly them in for the day of interrogation....err...interviews.....if they like you. Holy crap I really want this job. I told her the relo was the big draw and that I've been planning on moving out there for two years.

This is cool--you get assigned one customer in the beginning and stay with them for 12-18 months, after they sign the contract to buy the software. NO SELLING INVOLVED! You then help them assess needs and customize the software to their specifications, it's about 50% travel, like a week on site and a week at home in Madison, but it's the same customer, maybe 2 or 3 tops once you're trained and have been there a while. So you aren't running all over everywhere trying to keep 16 companies straight in your head. I love this....personal relationship and good rapport building with your customers. SWEET SWEET SWEET. PLEASE keep sending those good vibes, this job sounds like a really great fit.

"This newer 3-bedroom hilltop home is in an established neighborhood between Madison & Janesville." It must not be very close to the city but it's still in Dane County. Remember though Sue, I am a suburban girlie anyway, not a city person, and right now I live an hour outside of Philly. I'd prefer to cut that commute down to about half an hour, which cities you mentioned are about that far out? Some of the places I looked at, relatively new construction, in Stoughton were really nice. I don't need anything super huge, I'm apparently not going to be home more than two weeks or so a month anyway Wink

I'm going to look at Middleton, I am at Stark Realtors' website now.

I would call only downtown madison city like, the rest is very suburban. I would steer clear of the east and south sides of the city from what my sister tells me. I am by know means an expert so take this as about 1.5 cents.
