I heard an ad on the radio about a Dr.'s office that's offering liposuction for $500 / area. That seems pretty affordable to me.

I still find it disturbing that they advertise for elective surgery on the radio.

You want advertising for non-elective surgery instead?

Surgery for weight loss is such a drastic measure. It does not make sense to me. At all. Just because you remove the weight, your lifestyle habits still make you extremely unhealthy.

I've been significantly overweight for the better part of 12 years (140 lbs overweight for the past 8 years) and surgery never crossed my mind.

I think the Drs. have struck surgery GOLD! Liposuction client in 2004 and then again in 2006, then again in 2008. It's like selling cars, they just keep coming back for more.

You're absolutely right. It's like abortion as birth control (not meant to start an abortion debate). Liposuction is the lazy, irresponsible answer to doing the right thing, eating healthy and exercising regularly.
