The lovely bride and I are heading into the city to see Les Misèrables tonight, a rare mid-week date.

Suit and tie or is business casual okay?

depends on how casual a business you are talking.

Tan pants and a polo shirt and you'll be thumbs up

yes, business casual is just fine. You won't be overdressed, and you certainly won't be the worst dressed there.

People dress like crap at these things. You shouldn't. Blazer is a must, tie is optional.

I was going to say the same thing GGG, I don't know what you call business casual but I wouldn't go without a tie and probably a jacket.

I think a Riff Raff t-shirt, a tie-dyed pair of sweats, some sandals and a colorful headband would blend in nicely....

Traditional theatre etiquette has been thrown out the door in most places. It would normally require, at the least, for an evening performance, a jacket and tie for men and a somewhat formal dress for the women, at least mid calf length, preferably floor length. Again, that's been thrown out. Wear a jacket, carry a tie just in case, and look better than your average person.

(We used to do theatre a lot before we moved here. Larry always wore a suit and tie in the evening. It might be different in PA?)

You'd cross-dress for a night at the theatre?
