Posted: 03/06/06 - 18:49 Post subject: The only person who loves Abby more are her parents
I have not spoken much of Ms. Carole, she has been Abby's home nurse for almost 5 years, the entire time Abby was finally sent home from the hospital after 278 days in after she was born.
As I write this Abby is extremely upset because Ms. Carole had to leave the house to run an errand, and Abby did not want her to go.
Ms. Carole is as much a part of our family as any of our kids. She is with us close to 50 hours a week, goes to school with Abby, takes care of all of Abby's medical supplies, medication as well as day to day care.
Carole is so well thought of by our entire extended family, that there are always place settings at every family event for her. She even has her own Christmas stocking at my dad's house.
People often ask Robin and I how we continue to do what we do with Abby. Well a good bit of the credit goes to Ms. Carole. Carole has been with us for the worst and best. She has seen every single one of her milestones, cried with us when things got real bad, is our advocate for Abby when we are not home, and loves Abby as much as her own daughter. When Carole comes over in the morning, Abby runs and hugs her and is always glad to see her. Even if Abby is having a really bad day, Carole's attitude and fortitude never change. She is one of the most dedicated and loyal people I have ever met.
We were really disappointed when Carole could not come to Disney with us last fall. She deserved to be there and see Abby get treated like the queen.
All of the doctor's know Carole and know Carole's routine in the office when we go to the visits. She is given as much respect for the opinion as Robin and I are. If Carole says there is a problem, the docs listen to her.
Carole has truly helped Abby get this far in her life. I know Carole is with us until either Abby is called home or Abby is well enough to be on her own. She has never ever missed a day of work in 5 years with us.
Anyone who has ever met Abby has likely met Ms. Carole. Carole is almost as popular at the hospital as Abby is.
I know Greg will echo what I say. Carole is a great lady and truly a reason why Abby is what she is today. I know people give Robin and I a great deal of props, but I just want to pass on, that Carole has been a great help to us, more than words can say.

Maybe you should show her this--or write it down for her, too.
You're lucky. Not everyone can find care for their loved ones that special.

the only thing cooler then parents that can give what you give, is a person willing to take that on as a job when they have no obligation to help others (especially for 50hrs a week).

she has. We have had her been named employee of the month several times for "going above and beyond"
She has been named guardian of all the children in our will in the event of mine and Robin's death. We told her why we picked her. She absolutely knows how we feel.
We tell her at least once a week how much she means to us.

Carole is a very nice lady, and like Joe said, she is just like a member of the family.

This is just a true testament to the dedication of most nurses. It's the nurses who are instrumental in good patient care.
Take note pfffffffffff!!!!!!!!
Woohoo for Carole!
