So yesterday, we have an all-staff meeting to talk about "staff re-structuring". Not a real big deal, but basically I found out next year I would be teaching all the PE classes, and someone else would take over all the HS Social Studies. This didn't bother me, since I am the only "certified" PE teacher on staff.

And then, low and behold, I get an e-mail that a FT PE teaching position has come open in the Sioux Falls Catholic Schools System. Right now, my wife teaches at a Sioux Falls Public School, so she drives there every day anyway (20 miles).

I talk to one of my best friends, who left here to teach in their MS this year, and he absolutely loves it, and tells me to get down there! He is also an assistant BB coach, and tells me there will be a coaching position availible for me, if I get the job.

So, on the same day I find out I'd be teaching all PE here, another job opens up, (same job, different school), for more money, can concentrate on teaching in one subject area, and coaching is availible if I want it (and only 1 sport!). And it's in the same Catholic Diocese! I mean, we share our e-mail system with them.

This is pretty wild. I'm sending my stuff in to apply for the job on Monday. I feel pretty weird about all of this, especially when I am coaching a district game tonight, but sometimes the Lord works in mysterious ways.

Good luck Mark. Let us know how you make out.

One piece of advice though. The day you interview, don't wear the Buttslapper T-Shirt Wink

Good luck, Coach!

So you'd be carpooling with Mrs. Coach? Pretty cool, that!

Good luck, Coach. Desperate times breed desperate measures, and sometimes the grass truly is greener. Sometimes we rely too much upon ourselves and God puts us into a position where we literally HAVE to rely upon Him. And, I've found in the past that the right move simple makes sense from all angles and you know He's had His hand in it. This position could be just such a circumstance.
