I know we had a good thread back in the spring with what all was getting planted. So how'd it turn out?

We've been eating tomatos like no tomorrow. I kid you not in saying I have to reach UP to pick some. They're like trees! The dinner table also has plenty of beets, peppers and brussel sprouts. There's also 8 nice pumpkins getting well beyond beach ball size and starting to orange up. That'll make some good autumn pies.... mmm-mmmm.

I don't plant a garden but the locals in this area are having a banner crop. Sweet corn right now is awesome, hard to find a bad ear of it.

We had a most pathetic crop of tomatoes this year, but the sweet basil is taking over the yard. It is usually the other way around.

Lettuce came and went. Was very good but always a short crop.
Basil is still around and we're loving it.
Tomatoes are growing like weeds. The past few years we never had ripe tomatoes. Our black lab Nick would wait for them to be perfect and he'd sneak them off the vine and eat them. We would even put the basil around the tomatoes to make it hard for him and he still picked the tomatoes he just smelt like basil. Nick died in May so this year we have a full crop. Sad He never taught Sophie, our yellow lab, how to pick them.

We had strawberries and cherries earlier this summer and now we are looking forward to a nice grape harvest. Smile Our apple, plum, and peach trees however are fruitless this year.
