So I came up with a great new training plan to curb the injuries (with the help of some of y'all). And another great plan to help correct my diet (with the help of some of y'all). But I can't get out there. I mean I had a bad cold a few weeks ago and of course skipped about a week of running and now.....I just can't seem to make myself do it. My energy is in the crapper....what tha hell?
Does anyone else have this problem when the have to lay off for a week or so?
I need Tony Robbins to come to my house, show me those big horse teeth, and get me motivated.
I feel like this guy......

If I lay off too long it does seem to take a lot of energy just to get out the door. But once I get out there it all comes together and I forget why I felt so sluggish and apprehensive.
Toughest part of the run is to the shoes. Just tell yourself you will only go out for one mile, then you can stop--and see what happens.

Always willing to help... now RUN AWAY FROM THAT MAN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!
Seriously, though. I'm currently battling that problem. It's lame, but all I can say is just get out the door. You'll get it back.

Reward yourself, RunT. Tell yourself that if you put that mile in, you'll take yourself out and buy yourself that new running log or something else small.
Rewarding yourself REALLY helps!

I have been in your shoes. I have hit rock bottom where I just couldn't seem to get off the floor. It's hard, frustrating, and depressing when you are in that state. You get to a point where you can only go up.
Start by taking baby steps. Make small goals that you can reach with success so you can take bigger steps after that. Then take bigger...and bigger...and even bigger steps after that. It all starts with baby steps.
Surround yourself with positive people who will encourage you along the way. I've come here for that with my training. I like to post what I have done so I share the experience with the gang. I may never run a Full Mary or do an IM, but I try each day (like the others) to do something for myself. Sometimes I get comments, sometimes I don't. However, we're all in this together and we can push each other forward. Hopefully in a positive way.
You can do it! Now go and tell yourself that you can ok!

I've used that so many times. It works. Just lace up and go out for a mile. It will always turn into more.
