I need one, badly. I let a friend use my computer and I don't know WHERE in the hell he went (Internet-wise; he was supposed to be looking on E-bay for a boat part) but I have some serious pop-up issues. I've never had a problem until I let someone else use it. Any thoughts or ideas based on similar experience would be welcomed and VERY much appreciated.

Sounds like spyware to me. You may want to try something like Spybot. It's a free download.

So...one more dumbass question. I can't seem to get past all of the pop-ups to get anything installed. I used to be fairly tech savvy, and still am with software like Office, but I can't figure out where to get to these and get them working. I really do appreciate your help, and would prefer whatever is the least expensive option as we are on a budget here.

You'll never go back.

Unless, of course, you need to overnight something with DHL because there website doesn't work with Firefox.

My DSL provider has a pop-up blocker that works very well. But lately IE has been opening on my machine with pop-ups, even though I never use IE. I've done the spyware and adware stuff, but I can't make it stop.

That is EXACTLY what was happening to me. So far, the Mozilla Firefox is doing a fine job of eliminating pop-ups. Thanks for the advice!!! Mr. Green
