Posted: 01/24/05 - 09:50 Post subject: The Top 10 Movies of 2004 (updated, but incomplete)
With the Oscar Nominations being announced tomorrow, I figure this is as good of a time as any to post my list of the top 10 movies of 2004. My only caveat here is simply that there are several movies that I have not yet seen which I am positive will influence and change this list. But as of this posting (1/31), here is my top 10 list:
1. Million Dollar Baby
2. Hotel Rwanda
3. Maria Full of Grace
4. Closer
5. The Passion of the Christ
6. Kill Bill: Volume 2
7. The Incredibles
8. Finding Neverland
9. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
10. Collateral
Moves I have not seen which may change this list: Million Dollar Baby, Garden State, Friday Night Lights, I Heart Huckabees, The Motocycle Diaries, A Very Long Engagement, Kinsey
Note: I am two movies away from being able to complete the 2003 list, so you can see how completist I am here.

Hey, that's a good movie!
My two for 03 are The Station Agent and The Cooler. I imagine my list is pretty well complete for 03.

I've seen 3 of your 10. Guess I better start on that.

I personally thought Collateral was awful. It was the type of movie that I really didn't care what happened, like I could leave for half an hour and not care if I even did miss anything. I didn't see your top 3 or the Incredibles (have been meaning to), but I Heart Huckabees, Kinsey, and Garden State were all very good and would probably make it on my top 10 list, and Hero would have definitely been near the top of the list. Just IMHO. Of course, I thought Troy was bad and King Arthur was good, and I think the general consensus is the opposite.

Most people thought Troy was quite bad.

Well, y'all should at least see Hotel Rwanda, Maria Full of Grace, and The Incredibles.
If you had to choose.
