The PTA of the elementary school my kids go to has two fundraisers each year to support field trips and special assemblies. The fall fundrasier is a Jog-a-thon. The spring fundrasier is an candy sale at Easter time. The kid who sells the most gets the prize of $25 and a 7.5# chocolate bunny.
The winner was Alec who sold $975 worth of candy. holy schmoly that's a lot of candy
For the record, $12,587.70 was raised for the PTA. Oh, and the fundraisers are voluntary. Other than peer pressure and vying for prizes, there isn't any push to participate.
My question, could you sell almost $1000 of candy to get 7.5# of free, really good quality chocolate?

I don't know what age this is, but growing up the highest candy seller got their picture in the yearbook and lots of other 'very important' (at the time) status things. The premiums were really secondary to the status achieved as highest seller.
I was never anywhere close
