Left Chez Partay at 5pm on Sunday to catch 805 flight. Train did not go all the way to the airport as promised; needed to take bus shuttle from Market East. Drove 85mph down 95 in bus with no shocks driven by horrible bus driver. Got to airport, thanked the gods for not letting me die on the bus. Huge crowd inside, that wrapped to outside. Apparently 4 international flights were overbooked and created a mob scene.
Luckily I had only carry-on, so I proceeded to my gate. Then waited an hour to get my boarding pass via my e-ticket. Boarded plane at 745, which didn't take off until after 9. Oh yeah, I love sitting on the tarmac with the smelly people! They didn't have enough people to put the baggage on the plane. I know USAir is in trouble, but give me a break! I volunteered to help but they laughed at me. With only 130 people on the plane who all had carryon, I didn't see why it took so long, but...
Got to Pittsburgh, called The Paramedic to tell him I'd arrived safely. Problem with the rental car, which was eventually resolved. Drove to the wrong hotel (there are two of the same name on the same road); stopped on the way to the right one at grocery store for eats. Stopped by cop on the way to the right hotel because I was driving too slowly so as not to miss it. Luckily he was understanding!
Got to hotel room after being switched from original one at 1230am. Bed.
Up and out by 815 yesterday. Training started late b/c training room set up improperly. Finally got going. Got free lunch but bored all ten students with billing stuff. Got out early, changed, went to Montour Trail for short recovery run. Hot! Humid! I don't like the country, so this was a stretch. Very scenic, limestone-covered trail, relatively flat. Not used to movable surface under my feet; took a while to get adjusted.
Back to hotel, showered, out to dinner on the company. Actually waited on for first time in years by 18YO kid. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience; tipped him a lot, made nice comments about him to the manager which made him blush. Back in hotel, spent rest of evening watching TV while sitting in my jacuzzi!

If you want to run downtown there is a great paved trail along the north shore--goes past both stadiums and all the way up to the Heinz plant. Only problem is from where you are staying the main thorofare into the city is under construction and detours suck

Sahara that is the one on the Mon
They also have one on the Allegheny--
I guess they are all interconnected by downtown, Point State Park and the bridges. When Pebbs and I stay downtown we run on the North Shore trail up to the Heinz plant and back to the stadiums.
