Here she is Thursday morning in her pajamas with her breakfast banana sticker on her forehead, working on her signs. I traced lines on the poster board and wrote "Carrie's Lemonade Stand" on a piece of paper and she did the signs all by herself. Sign making was a two day process (she's so like her father).

Saturday morning she was up early and asking me every five minutes if it was time yet. At 10 am we started to set up. Got the ice, got extra cups, asked the lady on the corner if we could put a sign in her yard.

At 11 am, we were all set and ready to go:

Grandpa was the only pre-arranged customer, but he was her most favorite.

She didn't go into the house until about 5:30 pm. Sunday was a bust. Three customers (including her Daddy). Lemonade was a $0.25 a cup and she got a lot of tips for such good service and the free cookies with every cup.

She took in $18, with a net loss of $2 (we spent $20 in supplies). Her Daddy has agreed to give her the rest of the money to go to Six Flags because she made such a good effort and a 5 yr old doesn't understand the profit/loss portion of a business.

What I want to know is if she had a permit to dse tup the stand to begin with? Well, huh did she?

Here in S. Florida (Boca Raton to be exact), the police arrested a 3rd grader for having a lemonade stand without a permit. Yes, you read that right.
