With the Discussion for the December Book Club coming up in the next two weeks, I figure we should roll out the January book for those who want to get a head start (i'm only 2/3 of the way through the December book, but i'll be finished by Christmas).

After much thought, we're gonna go with Makes Me Wanna Holler unless there is some sort of objection to this one.

I read through some of the reviews for that book. It probably would've raised a huge hissy fit at my high school. I'll be interested to know what you guys think after reading it.

So depending on whether or not we actually have a discussion for December's book will determine if we'll even have a January book. I do think this book is quite good, but if there is no interest...

The Wobegon library has this one, so I might give it a go. That chapter one sample at Amazon was Shocked to say the least. I'll grab it off the shelf and see whether it continues in that vein. Shocked

I couldn't get my hands on the December book, so I hope the club doesn't die. I'll get in the months with books I can library lend and catch my interest.

It's a very powerful book. My wife recommended it to me (though I think I may have bought her the book) and I read it one afternoon when I was home sick from work. Excellent book.

Picked this up today. jrjo is right about the first chapter. I only finished half before I had to do something else. Can't wait.
