It's a true story of a family whose house was broken into in the night and the 12 year old girl was murdered with a knife.
There was Michael, 14, and Stephanie, 8, who were also there, unharmed.
The police decided right away (because he did not show very much outward grief) that Michael did it. They sequestered him and badgered and bullied and lied to him for 2 days straight with very little rest until they had him confessing to the murder. They did it by telling him that they found his sister's blood in his room, that they knew he planned it because he was jealous of her, that it was possible for him to have done it and not be able to remember.
12 months and a life of total hell for that whole family later, the killer was apprehended and imprisoned.
The movie was very accurate to the real story, and it's given me the willies. I lock every door and window tight now and keep having nightmares about it.
