is Dec 17 2005. http://huff50k.com/
I'm seriously considering this. This would be two weeks post the Las Vegs Marathon, so I should still be in good shape for this.
Has anyone run the Huff, here? Any feedback?

Kimba...
I did this last year and loved it. It's 3 laps of about 80% trail. The first lap was frozen, the second was perfect, then the third was muddy.
There were some steep hills that I had to walk each time. I thought overall, the trail had great footing and was well-packed. There were not many rocks or roots to trip on (at least from my memory).

Something I just thought of. You may want to wear some kind of pack that will allow you to take food with you. The aid stations were about 3-4 miles apart and at times, I found I really needed something between them. Luckily, I had worn my pack and had granola bars in it.
Also layers can't be expressed enough. When I started last year, it was about 25°F. When I finished, it was about 50°F.
Oh, and the starting gun is not a gun. It's a CANNON!!! When they fire it off, you feel it. 10 minutes later when they fire it for the 1-lap people, you still feel it even though you are 1/2 mile away!

I was really thinking about doing this until I realized the "UF" in HUFF meant "ultra frigid." Would still be pretty cool...

Wasn't that cold last year. 30's and 40's. I think that's about average for that time of the year.

Wow! This race is cheap! $35 for a 50k? Heck, I might do it just for price!

I just noticed that this year, the race is ON my birthday!!!
I'll be there for at least the 10k. I doubt I'll do the 30k, but you never know!

Oh yeah! Then you're in!
I'm in, registered, have a hotel room, I'm set!
There may be another female runner joining me, I don't know if she's registered yet. If she does, I will pick her up in Columbus and we'll be in on Friday afternoon.
I've met some other runners who have run HUFF that said it's a good course, it just depends on the weather. Mid December, who knows, but it should be pretty good still..
