I am going to Monterrey Mexico (actually Mon Clova) for business in the beginning of June. I am very excited. Usually we get stuck going to the border towns for jobs. I am going to be taking some time and do some touring while I am down there as well. Anyone ever been there? I'm looking for some ideas. I have been to Cozumel 4 years ago, that was nice but very touristy.

Also this will be the first time I have flown in since 1999. I am a little nervous about that but going to give it a shot again. Embarassed

I am terrified of flying.

I hate flying too. I solve it by drinking massive quantities of alcohol to calm my nerves before boarding.

I have tried that, unfortunately, I sober up right when I board the plan. I was thinking of taking a sedative but I am afraid of landing in Mexico all drugged up. Shocked

Since the FAA has gotten so strict on pilots and drinking, I limit myself to painkillers when I'm actually flying the plane.

I've been to Saltillo...which I think is an hour or two from Monteray. Is that what they call it "city of Mountains"? because Saltillo was at very high altitude. There will be a little less English as comparison to your resort towns (Cozumel) but the area is quite wealthy in Mexican terms....you will actually see minivans. If I remember right the GM plant is on the outskirts of town. You can eat real el cheap-o. That's all I know sorry. PS...saltillo nightlife was a blast!!!!
