Posted: 03/28/05 - 18:14 Post subject: That show...extreme home demolition...
Is something I don't usually watch, because we are at church on most Sunday evenings.
Yet, last night I had a chance to skim it as I surfed trying to find something that would hold my attention. I don't get real emotional over TV, except great sports moments, like this weekends college basketball games, Phil winning the Masters, the Red Sox winning last year...
...but I'll admit, when that guy from the home compant said that they had picked up the tab on the property, and there was no mortgage on the house...it was tough keeping the focus through the blurry eyed situation it caused.
inspired by the gift thread, where mortgage seemed to be a popular theme

I can't help myself. I bawl every. time. I. watch. that. show. It seems like they really help out people who are not only deserving but are so surprised and grateful. I love it.

( for my husband, too...and he will even admit it!). I sometimes wonder if they are associated with Habitat for Humanity. I was actually going to make a post about Extreme Home Makeover last night to see if anyone knew anything about them. Almost every single show you hear someone mentioning God, too! "Thank you, God," "I've been praying for something like this," "God is so good to us," etc.

Does anyone know the tax consequences for the families they help? Is this one of those things where they are "given" all that stuff, then have to turnaround and pay a gajillion in taxes on it, like Oprah's cars, HGTV dream home, etc?
